Well, I’ve been looking for a directory script for a while - Ideally one under GNU General Public License would be ideal, but nothing has appeared within the search so far. PHP Link Directory 2 (PHPLD) seemed ideal, but the lack of support is discouraging especially when all requests point you towards the support forum which firstly is aimed towards PHPLD3 at a cost of $25 plus an additional $10 to join the support forum. Coming from a background of PHPBB and WordPress I’m not use to this payment “for support” attitude. Maybe I’ve had it lucky for too long.

Having said that, nothing seems to come near PHPLD especially support wise. I looked into using almost every other platform for a directory - Wordpress,  Joomla!, etc but support is too much of an essential issue for me. So, I’ve took the plunge after playing around with PHPLD 2 (which is free btw) and purchased version 3 with support.

I’ll let you know how I get on later as I work to get it modded to my needs.
